This session highlighted the innovative collaboration between Manchester University Foundation Trust (MFT) and Bellrock, focusing on the development of a new PAM module within the Concerto platform.
As an overview, our panellists discussed:
David Bailey, Head of Digital Estates at MFT, shared the complexities of managing PAM using traditional spreadsheet-based methods. The need for a more integrated and scalable system was evident, prompting the partnership with Concerto.
Steve Collins, Product Owner at Concerto, explained how the new module was developed to streamline processes, enhance user engagement, and ensure consistency across the board. The module's flexibility allows it to adapt to future changes, making it a valuable tool for managing not just PAM but also other compliance areas.
The implementation of the new module has led to significant time savings and improved accuracy in reporting. According to a benefits paper by BIS Consult, the module has saved MFT's compliance team three months of work for one full-time equivalent (FTE) at a band seven level. This efficiency could translate into millions of pounds saved across the NHS.
Looking ahead, both David and Steve emphasised the potential for further digital transformation within the NHS. The success of the PAM module serves as a catalyst for exploring additional technological solutions that can drive efficiency and collaboration across the healthcare sector.
The webinar underscored the importance of digital innovation in enhancing estate management within the NHS. As trusts continue to embrace technology, the lessons learned from the MFT and Concerto partnership offer valuable insights for others looking to embark on a similar journey.
